Puffer Coats for Days

At first, I said I needed them because I was moving to the East coast. Then, it turned into needing every color to match my outfits. And now, I think it’s time to admit that I am simply *addicted* to puffers.

California or Pennsylvania – I don’t care, puffers are a wardrobe staple. I don’t know what it is about this year, whether you’re skiing or taking a walk around the block, you’re fit for a new puffer.

So, if you know anything about me it’s that I long for a Montcler– but not for the price tag. So, I’ve taken it upon myself to narrow down my top 5 affordable, not-so-classic puffer picks.

1. (P)leather Puffer

Who doesn’t love a pleather moment? When I saw this puffer on the Zara website, I knew I had to have it. I wasn’t obsessed with the $70 price tag, so when I found an exact dupe on Shein, I snatched that baby up. This puffer elevates any outfit; people will think you know what you’re doing when you’ve got this on.

2. Neutral Puffer Dream

This puffer has become a staple in my wardrobe. Not only is it so cute (it looks much better in person), but it feels thick and keeps you warm. I love to layer this puffer with a hoodie or a chunky sweater. It always takes my outfit to the next level.

3. Faux Fur Mini Puffer

Oh, Abercrombie… It’s like I can’t seem to let you go. When I saw my favorite blogger post in this puffer just the other day, I knew I needed it. It’s different, it’s chic, it’s brown, and it’s on sale.

4. The “Amazon Coat

I know this one is technically not a puffer from first glance, but we’re going to qualify it as a puffer. Apparently I am late to the game because everyone knows about this coat. You don’t know about the Amazon coat? It’s ok, I didn’t either. But apparently we’re the only ones because even Oprah featured it on her website last year.

Out of all the puffers, this is the only one I don’t currently own (probably not for much longer). But I have seen it in person, and it looks and feels much more expensive than it is!

5. Paisley Hooded Puffer

I was at dinner the other day and someone said “Your outfit is only as good as the jacket you’re wearing,” and it stuck with me. I’m obsessed with this bandana-style Adika puffer. It’s always good to have at least one jacket that’s out of the box, and this is definitely that. Not to mention it’s pink and sage – you’re going to be seeing a lot more of that this year! But I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this puffer is sure to elevate any outfit.

Which one is your favorite?

Phil

Quarantine But Make It Cute (& Comfy)

Quarantine or not, I’ve always loved a good sweatsuit, baggy tee, and anything that’s comfy + cute. I told myself a few months back that I had enough sweatshirts, and if I bought a new one, I would have to get rid of an old one that I don’t wear. HOWEVURRRR, that was then and this is now.

Quarantine has me switching from sweatshirt to sweatshirt 3 times a day. You’ve got your sleeping sweatshirt, your WFH sweatshirt, your go to the store, or go on a walk sweatshirt, the list goes on.

Moral of the story – I bought new sweatshirts. And it was worth it, ok? I’ve listed a few of my favorite new sets that I have been loving during this time and some other picks that I think you’ll love too!

First up, Missguided. I’ve made a few orders to Missguided since this whole quarantine debacle began. I was pleasantly surprised when I received my order. The quality was much better than I expected and everything fit great.

The only downside is that it’s pretty tough to find picks that aren’t sold out – as of right now the ones I listed are a few I ordered myself and some other sweatshirts that are in stock and super cute.

Thanks to my cute tie-dye Playboy set from PacSun I got to feel my 30 seconds of fame, that was fun. PacSun has some really cute sets that you’ll love if you’re really into pastels like moi. Also, I’ve included a golden retriever t-shirt because that is a necessity.

Nastygal-3.png
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6

I couldn’t do a blog post on comfy + cute without including NastyGalI spend a greater part of my days scrolling through the site, seeing what’s new, and adding hundreds of styles to my cart – for no reason.

Buying off NastyGal can be a hit or miss, but there are a few pieces that I have ordered time and time again and they have not disappointed – crewnecks and shoes (just size down). But honestly, with the NastyGal price tag, it’s hard to be mad at anything you buy from there.. plus they extended their return window with the given circumstances 😉 #sponsorme.

@marissabrunoo.png

YOU GUYS, Marissa Bruno has the cutest sweatsuits money can buy – don’t @ me. She has made sets for all my fav bloggers like – @sabotage queens, Keaton Milburn, Delaney Childs, Viviane Audi, and of course Marissa herself.

She also just released a new beige short set that is actually the cutest and I will be ordering ASAP.

Urban Outfitters-3.png
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7

Last but not least, Urban Outfitters has some firing picks that I have been seeing a lot of on Insta. Obviously, Urban isn’t the cheapest for t-shirts w/ holes and acid crewnecks but what can ya do, it’s fashun. I’m obsessed w/ my Van Halen Tee – and yeah before you ask, I don’t listen to Van Halen – and it’s been worth every penny to me!

I hope there are a few things in here you’re eyeing – I know I am. LMK if you decide to order some new quarantine loungewear so I can live vicariously through you; I don’t know if I can justify one more sweatshirt after this.

Fashion Forecasting for Spring 2019

There’s a thirty percent chance that teddy coats are already out of style.

(Ok I said 30…)

It’s FASHION WEEK, which means the runways are poppin’ and we are all – shook – because these looks are literally killlinnnng it. #servinglooks2019

I am by no means a fashion expert but I do dabble in magazines, blogs, Youtube, online shopping, and stalking the occasional influencer – on the daily. I’ve been picking up on some major trend vibes that are coming in hot and selling out so SO fast. This season on the runway we are literally drowning in chiffon, glitter, and puffy sleeves. Truly, if I had a dollar for every puffy, chiffon, bedazzled sleeve I would actually have enough money to buy one of these runway looks. But there are also so many other trends that we can look out for and start scoping out at our favorite stores before everything’s sold out (also prime time to hit the thrift stores).

Below are the trends that I am loving and seeing A LOT of at fashion week. I paired both runway pictures with some of my favorite bloggers so you can see how to incorporate these looks into your everyday outfits in a fresh and stylish way.

NEON

Screen Shot 2019-01-26 at 12.15.11 AM.png

Ok I knew neon was going to be back this season but it has to be the most popular look I’ve seen ~through my research~ especially the LIME GREEN! Lime green and pink are the two neon colors you are going to be seeing everywhere this season so I suggest stalking up on those Walmart construction t’s while you still can.. jk.. not really though..

STATEMENT SLEEVES

Screen Shot 2019-01-26 at 12.04.27 AM.png

If I could afford to buy every single puffy sleeve blouse on Revolve (or even just one) I really think I would buy them all and only wear that for the rest of my life. I think this look is so flattering and makes any outfit so much more interesting. That being said, everything this season is about being more interesting and honestly just being extra AF. So if you see a sleeve that is bigger than you’re face, don’t hesitate, just buy it (all the cool kids are doing it).

PVC

Screen Shot 2019-01-27 at 10.26.08 PM.png

Yeah you thought the plastic trend was gonna go away when people realized their shoes were steaming up. Sorry though – you were wrong, honestly so wrong. The plastic trend is here, clear, and severe(ly uncomfortable). But lucky for you the PVC trend is no longer limited to shoes in fact we’re seeing it essentially on everything – purses, jackets, pants, underwear (probably). My personal favorite – other than the small purses – are the sandal PVC heels, Balmain used these for almost all of their looks and they not only match everything but they make my short lil legs look like I might actually reach 5’5!

BIKER SHORTS

Screen Shot 2019-01-28 at 9.23.54 AM.png

Biker shorts have hit couture status – thank you Kim Kardashian and Yeezy. Truthfully, big fan of the biker short look and now it’s no longer limited to just a casual outfit. We’re going to start seeing people take these from cute to glam in so many different ways – colors, fabrics, we’re here for it.

GLITTER BABY

Screen Shot 2019-01-27 at 10.28.04 PM.png

It’s official – glitz and glam is no longer just limited to New Years Eve. We are seeing rhinestones, glitter, metallic everywhere and I am obsessed. Rhinestones had their moment when the chokers were all the rage two years ago but now we’re seeing rhinestone hair clips, belts, and boots. I think this has to be my favorite trend out of all of them this Spring because who doesn’t want to be shinin’ in glitter and rhinestones all day, every day?

More Trends You’ll Be Seeing:

Burberry print is everywhere, I bet you’re wishing you hadn’t tossed those faux Burberry scarves right about now or is that just me?

This Spring it’s all about mix and matching different trends, less is not more, and being extra is now the norm. I have never been more on board with ALL of these trends and can’t wait to style some outfits to post for all of you! Let me know which trend is your favorite and which you’ll be rockin’ this season.

As always, see you next time.

Revolve Holiday Sale

It’s the days after Christmas which means the sales are at an all time high. Since Revolve is my favorite place to shop – but is always SO expensive – I decided to scope all 36 pages of their holiday sale and choose my favorite pieces under $100 that you (and me) need to take advantage of this season! Here is a mash up of all my top picks that you can find on Revolve Holiday Sale.

Fall-ing For Sales

Sweater

I got this sweater because Toni Sevdalis told me to, and whatever she says goes. I wish I had sized up to have it be a little more chunky and loose but the Small still works and I love the chic look the turtle neck gives. I’ll be ordering the tan color next!

Jeans

Abercrombie jeans always go on sale, like I mentioned in my Affordable AF Jeans post. I was lucky and got these for around $20 but they’re still on sale for pretty cheap! The quality of these jeans reminds me of the Levi’s wedgie fit which usually retails around $100 but these A&F jeans look and feel just as expensive.

Shoes
Option 1 Option 2 Option 3

I got these shoes from Target awhile back – an exact dupe to the Steve Madden sock booties but for a quarter of the price. Unfortunately Target no longer has them on their site but you can find these anywhere. I added a few links to dupes I found on Shein because Shein is my new obsession, if you couldn’t tell, and a pair from DSW that’s a little more expensive but still super affordable.

Watch

Obviously an Apple Watch is not very affordable or necessary, but if you have one I love getting different bands from Amazon. The Apple Watch bands from Apple are around $50, which I am not about to buy after buying the Apple Watch itself. I recently got a silver band, which is exactly like the one they sell at the Apple Store, but for only $12 and it’s my favorite.
